We’ve owned Hot Tubs for several decades. My last was the Hot Spring Sovereign which lasted over 20 years with only a few issues (replaced water heater twice, repaired wood siding, replaced cover) and when it was time to look for a replacement, a new Hot Spring was the obvious choice (it’s a good product).
But before deciding which model, I thought it wise to see what else is on the market comparatively, after all, it’s quite an expense and we use our tub almost daily if not twice a day in the cold winter months. Quality and reliabilty is paramount!
In my search for local hot tub dealers I stumbled upon EnviroSmart which carries Bullfrog Spas. Upon looking at the Bullfrog Spa website and learning about their technology and innovation, I was curious and visited the showroom (only a few miles from my home near Charlottesville, VA). I was very intrigued by the jet-pack design, being able to change them at your desire and choosing from dozens of different jet-packs with very different hydrotherapy effects.
I scheduled a test soak for my husband and myself and it was just amazing, how versatile the tub was. The jet-packs are surprisingly easy to change out and quickly we found some favorite (must have) packs. My husband is 6’4” and I’m 5’4”, so having seats that are great for the both of us is a challenge. Even though we thought a smaller tub would be fine as we are almost always only 1-2 people in the tub, we found that the A7L was perfect for the two of us.
There is one thing especially my husband disliked about soaking in our previous tubs, that is the chlorine which dries his sensitive skin, no matter how low I tried to have the chlorine level. I don’t like chlorine or bromine either but it was necessary for sanitation. So we were educated on the ECOsmarte 100% chlorine-free spa system. It was a pricy add-on but eliminates all chlorine/bromine use. It is copper based and sounded great in therory but only time will tell if this really works. We took the chance and ordered it with the tub.
We got our tub in June and it has been a wonderful experience so far. The ECOsmarte System works like a charm, water is soft and pleasant, like you bath in Evian Water. Maintenance is very easy (much less than my previous tub). I check PH level twice a week and it always is right on. We enjoy the tub daily and moved our jet-packs to the seats that work best for both of us. The water feature is also very attractive and I love the changing multicolor mood lights at night, but above all, the hydrotherapy we get from the jets is superior to other tubs I’ve experienced.
Two minor complaints or comments:
1. The surround sound system is not too bad but for the price, I would expect better speakers, they are somewhat cheap and flat sounding.
2. In the A7L there are 4 small but powerful leg jets placed, 2 of which will hit you right in the back of your knee which is a design flaw as it is never a place to put pressure on tissue and joint. This is the case for either my husband or myself, they just hit the back of the knees. I would move them higher up to get the hamstrings instead, the other 2 are fine, hitting the calves muscles. Luckily, we can turn those 2 off, but they are wasted at that location.
All together, we are very happy customers. The customer care from our local dealer is very good so far.
